Trump, Hitler, Washington, Munich, 2025, 1930s

       Appeasement is a diplomatic strategy.

It means making concessions to an aggressive foreign power in order to avoid war. The best known example of appeasement is British foreign policy towards Nazi Germany in the 1930s. In popular memory, appeasement is primarily associated with British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain (in office, 1937–1940).

In the 1930s, British leaders pursued appeasement because they wanted to avoid a second world war.  Now it is because Trump is, for reasons known best to him ONLY, is beholden to Russia to end this war and not to truth or the actual state of things.

Trump made the same deal with Putin at the expense of Ukraine as Chamberlain made with Hitler at the expense of the rest of the world.

It is a shame and will end badly for everyone.   If anyone thinks that Trump or his lapdogs are on the right track, I've got a paper bag full of gold to sell you.

I am very sad and hate the way this is going to work out.
