Poseidon's Daughters

Its been a little rough down at the shore of late - what with the storms but this morning dawned grey and still with a promise of sun.

Sibelius - the Finnish composer - visited Connecticut - just across the Sound to the north some years back where he performed this work - the Oceanides - you know the daughters (thousands of them) of Poseidan - well named after them.

Anyway the work is about a hundred years old and fairly rarely played. I've always enjoyed it and on a cold walk on a damp morning at the beach, it seemed something I'd like to remember.
