As a conductor of sorts, I'm stricken by the envy bug now and then. I simply don't care for a lot of conductors, thinking them pompous asses or fools, in that order.  Some I enjoy and will until the day I die.  That is the bug of envy.

Conductors leave fingerprints on their work;  i.e. you can spot their performances a mile away.  Claudio Abbado was one of them.

He is/now was what I would like to be or have been if I only had the talent.
