Scriabin was a Russian composer of some note (bad pun), living about from the time of our civil war until the Revolution. We look at him as kind of an odd duck in the Russian composer family; the 'one step farther then the rest' type.
He was well known, well traveled and, musically admired. Not the big league composer/musician but a first rate one who was also into mysticism and symbolism. In that end, he went a long way in associating the musical notes with colors, writing a lot about it and actually working on a color organ..press a key and get a color.
Here are his associations:
C# -- Purple
F# -- Bright Blue/Violet
B -- Blue
E -- Sky Blue
A -- Green
D -- Yellow
G -- Orange
C -- Red
F -- Deep Red
Bb -- Rose/Steel
Eb -- Flesh
Ab -- Violet
Db -- Purple (same as C#)
Gb -- Bright Blue/Violet (same as F#)
It seems to fit into the ROY G BIV scheme of things. I find it interesting.
