The Huckster

In all, Mike Huckabee is probably a decent fellow - maybe even more than that. A lot of people other than the dittohead types who mainline Faux Noise seem to like him too. That's fine.  I'm a nice guy. I would probably like him and aside from some weird little quirks I would go fishing with him - but from shore only so I could get away - but never in a boat where I would be trapped.  Mike suffers from pundits disease.  It is rarely fatal in the end of life sense although it does seem to cut careers off at the knees.  It isn't hard to diagnose. The symptoms are slow to develop but generally are characterized by being in a position where you have to flap your mouth a lot, unscripted, and over time you run out of things to say. That's when the disease really sets in as not having anything concrete to talk about and yet filling in  great spans of time with this "nothingness"...well that is the second stage.

When the disease turns terminal or to the end stage is when you think what you are saying to fill in this big stretches of time when "you got nothin'" is important.  The epicenter of the epidemic is over at Faux Noise where on any given weeknight a few of those so afflicted put their "end stage" out there for all to see. The Huckster, since his onset was more acute and devastating is relegated to late night or 4am on Saturdays. 

The root issue is that if you have lots of time to just speak to the highly partisan masses, then you got all carried away and crazy and when you talked to the real people, you sounded like a loon. The Huckster took a shot at Obama while on the radio with one of NYC's larger than life nutjobs, Steve Malzberg and then did his best to dig the hole deep by "explaining" his remarks. Then, in his wisdom he took at shot a Natalie Portman and single mom pregnancy, in: "But there aren't really a lot of single moms out there who are making millions of dollars every year for being in a movie. And I think it gives a distorted image that yes, not everybody hires nannies, and caretakers, and nurses. Most single moms are very poor, uneducated, can't get a job, and if it weren't for government assistance, their kids would be starving to death and never have health care. And that's the story that we're not seeing, and it's unfortunate that we glorify and glamorize the idea of out of children wedlock."

Oh Mike Mike Mike.....most single moms are poor because the single dad who caused the single mom's pregnancy is out the door and there court system can't do much and doesn't do much. The kids would be starving if there were no food stamp programs and other services but your ragmuffin crew wants to reduce that funding so you - and this is you Huckster - can get a tax break on the million somalians you make at Faux Noise...oh and the job, you are of the party that wants to reduce child care help.....so how the heck is a single mom going to go to a job with a kid who she can't afford to put in health care??? Hello Huckster? Earth to Huckster...
