I succumb to temptation

Christine Todd Whitman was once Governor of New Jersey and then went on to head the EPA under Bush the Child.  After 9-11, when the responders were down at the site digging and clearing, there was obviously some concern on everyone's part about the quality of the air.  Not to worry said Ms. Whitman in her official capacity as head of the EPA.

Now some 9 years later, when scores of these folks who went down to the site to clean it up and look for bodies are dead and thousands more have problems traced to the air that was inhaled after the disaster, the GOP has held up funding of extended benefits and compensation for the illnesses.  That is the republican party at its finest. They rushed to bail out the airlines so they wouldn't get sued for security issues.  They piled in the money in compensation to the families.  Now, in the happy-happy times of bad memory and distant past, .... well not so much.

This is the GOP that is primed to lead this country for the next couple years.  I was tempted not to tell you or remind you of this unpleasant fact but I succumbed.
