The Twin Forks of Long Island are kinda known as the Hamptons on the south and Wine Country on the north. In the midst of the "insufferables" and the vineyards are a few dozen farms that grow bi-color corn and it is, just without doubt, the best except perhaps a few ears I had in Iowa one summer.
There are a lot of roadside farm stands and in the last 20 something years out here some have survived all that time and are much like Stations of the Cross on saturday mornings. Here for beets, there for squash and lots of places, Harbes in particular for corn.
This is my granddaughter. She can finish an entire ear and she isn't one yet.

What a beautiful baby. She will always remember eating corn with her granddad out in the Hamptons on a warm summer day. Enjoy them while they are that age. Soon enought they will want to borrow the car.
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful.
