Happy Memorial Day - formerly Decoration Day - the First Monday in June...or thereabouts.
Here is you finale to the 1812 Overture which seems to be du jour work at all the concerts everywhere and the fireworks display that follows.
It always has bothered me a bit that we glorify war and fireworks are like war...with bombs bursting in air...so much. Our Civil War was hell on earth and every war since or before is as well. My dad fought in the pacific theater for the duration of WWII and until his death he refused to discuss it other than to say that if this was a noble enterprise he would rather plant beans.
Today isn't about the glories of war but in rememberance of the dead. Keep that in mind.
