Gardens in the rain

The early news (5am) stated that the east end of Long Island would receive so much rain today that if you were looking up it would be flooding upward.  ... or words to that effect.

It's Monday morning. Pouring. Now 6am. Coffee is very hot and since the economy has improved greatly, we have elected to turn the thermostat back to 50 for the remainder of the spring and just tough it out.  I was tough 50 years ago. Now I'm just chilled.  Anyway, sea is still calm as the wind is offshore but that will change to 8 footers by noon we are told and as the sunrise is visible all isn't lost. But the grey ocean is going to be dark dark sky  and very soon.  What did the ancients think on mornings like this? Weather is our aching bones discomfort; to them perhaps eat or not, die or not, freeze or not. We've had our share of this winter but with weather and with the way things worked out or didn't.

I'll give you one audio-visual then you just have to perk yourself up. Garbage needs to get down to the curb.
