Just when I thought Tim Bishop D-1st Congressional NY was the lighter than air congressman and when I was urging a local friend to run (although she is a republican, she is smart and fair and no-nonsense) up steps George Demos to due battle as the republican entrant to the congressional race.
I just saw a political ad for him on TV. barf. His claim(s) to fame is that he is from Brookhaven Town on Long Island where I think there has been an unbroken string of town supervisors off to the fed. pen., where taxes are beyond belief, and where the garbage hauling cartel is stronger than the marines...you can draw your assumptions.
Ohhhhh but wait there is more!!! Mr.Demos worked for the SEC as a prosecutor for the past 7-8 years. OHMY! The office that did NOTHING for 8 years. The office that needed Elliot (what's her phone number) Spitzer to come in and ride herd because they DID NOTHING. He claims to be a big part of the Madoff prosecution. WHAT PROSECUTION. The crook pleaded guilty. Where was this guy? What in the world did he do? Count china?
The Eskimos, so it is told, when confronted with an aged or unproducing member, simply put them on an ice flow to go whereever. It seems cruel but merciful to the greater good. Oh Mr. Demos....icecube waiting for you on pier 1. You can join Mr. Bishop if you don't mind a crowd.
Can we just lop off the eastern district of New York or NY1 as it is called, and wait for a qualified candidate rather than rely on these nimrods of mediocrity?
