Haupango on the 5th of May

Fog at dawn of an all day very rainy 5th of May,  it might be time to change the tempo so not to surrender to the gloom

This early morning, we are escaping with strong coffee, the Times, and background TV full up on the various food channels with Mexican cuisine spilling out of the screen.  I have to admit that I personally like it better than any other cuisine so this day might turn into something. Years ago I ate at Frontera Grill in Chicago, Rick Bayless's restaurant.  It was one of the most enjoyable meals of my life. Equally tasty, but far more pedestrian, are tacos at home, the last fireplace fire (tonight anyway) of the year and perhaps a
dose of fog rolling in at sunset.  One can hope.

I like the music as much as the food. The rhythms, colors, complexity...well it just is grand.  You might like this one.  It is an Haupango (read the short Wiki article here).

Later on, go fix a Watermelon Agua Fresca, rustle up a couple fish tacos and tap your toes. Chases away a lot of the blues.
