The Harrowing of Hell

The Harrowing of Hell, depicted in the Petites Heures de Jean de Berry

I bet you were thinking what the Saturday after Good Friday is called.  You know, that day in the Apostles Creed, "....crucified, dead and buried. He descended to the dead (or in to hell)...". That day. Here you go.

Holy Saturday (LatinSabbatum Sanctum), the Saturday of Holy Week, also known as Holy and Great Saturday, the Great SabbathBlack SaturdayJoyous Saturday, or Easter Eve.

So. I'm guilty in kinda glossing over this day and probably a lot of us go bipping right from Friday to Sunday and passing right by this really, really central day when you think about it and if you believe in this entire thing or not. See, those of us who might face limbo, have a chance of being scooped up and taken to heaven.  From hell to paradise. And inbetween, a harrowing time ...

To the agnostics among us confronted by believing or not in such matters, well, it does no harm to buy in.

Too much for 4am but I was awake and just thinking about stuff.
