The Furies Descend

noun, plural fu·ries.
  1. unrestrained or violent anger, rage, passion, or the like:The gods unleashed their fury on the offending mortal.

I'm of the opinion that what you sow, so shall you reap.  If you act "extremely" then you have moved the dial so to speak and you should expect the reaction to your acts to be equally extreme.  Hitler, perhaps history's ultimate bad actor deserves what hatred and loathing he gets as he moved his "outgoing" dial as far towards evil as one can imagine and unleashed the furies as was his due.

Simply, if you make a pact with the devil, then be prepared to accept the payback  in kind.

I watch the current political torture scenes in Washington in this light.  There being "hell to pay" is just the tip of what is to come.  We can argue all day long about how persons have spun the dial toward evil, but in the end, as soon as the knob moves, the furies descend; little ones at first and then the mother load to follow.

It is sad that the reaping of what was sown will be so extreme but to those who are pushing back, well, it seems proportional; so quid pro quo.

I spent a great day yesterday with people who were truly out to do good things; a room full of people facing front and marching together, of course with disagreements but always offering up an open mind and compassion for the other's point of view.

It rejuvenates the soul to be honest; to concentrate energy toward  a common goal and common issues.  The point of all this being that the furies that are let loose on us now are a result of our own bad deeds and actions and by golly the only way to drive these things out is not to sow bad seeds.....or perhaps to sow some good ones.

End of lesson.
