obviously there is a need for a shadow...but think about it for a minute. just given this much and living in the northern hemisphere, it being winter we know we are looking somewhere other than north....think about it.
this really clears up the time of day(light)....but it doesn't work after dark.
actually, you can find one of those anywhere. think back to the snow shadows in the forest....
just clues but if you see the above, you are looking south or north...can't be anything else.
for those who think about what time is it and where we have to go ... well.....
