We are on the brink in Syria; make no mistake. Putin says he will counter whatever we do in response to the gassing of Syria's own citizens including sinking "platforms" from which the United States launches any missile.
You might ask how we got to this point. Trump, of course, blames Obama and there is some second guessing in that regard. However, he has been in office for over a year and to say that he has announced a coherent strategy to find a solution; well, finding the remote TV clicker seems just about his limit of curiosity.
But civilization may, regardless, be on the brink of going down the drain for a while.
