A Modest Proposal by Gov. Nathan Deal of Georgia

To be fair, Georgia is surrounded by stupid; S. Carolina, Florida, Alabama and Tennessee so geographically it found itself behind the 8-ball from the get go.

It also has a good share of poor people and many of those can't afford health insurance of any kind.

Doctors are a peculiar lot; they want to get paid, so, and I image that this is the case with most of us, the first question one hears when trying to book an appointment is "what is your insurance company"?  If you are on Medicaid, your choices are limited anyway.  If you have nothing, then you either pay out of your own pocket or you go to a hospital that accepts Medicaid and that hospital is required to treat you no matter what.

Obamacare addressed the issue of all that "free service" that jacks up health costs by proposing to expand Medicaid and as it requires some state money, the federal government will pick up the tab for 3 years and 90% of the additional costs until 2022.  Good so far?
The proposed Georgia Healh Care System

Governor Deal has declined to let Georgia participate in the Medicaid expansion. He is also working it so hospitals don't have to treat anyone who shows up sick and can't pay.

Governor Deal must keep a volume of Swift's "A Modest Proposal" next to his bed for light reading before dream time.  If this GOP nitwit who can't read a weather forecast thinks that virtually forcing treatable health care issues to go die on the streets or spread their illness to the rest of the population.....well I guess he does.
