The Great Velveeta Shortage of 2014

There is a shortage of this stuff. Mainly in the New York city area but a shortage nonetheless.
It threatens to spread but hasn't yet. The warning of potential shortages has hit the news so we expect some sort of run on Velveeta...hording it up for the Superbowl (it lasts forever).
OR, this might be one of the more clever marketing stunts Hogwarts has seen these many years.  How does one push demand? Announce a shortage.  Where is the best place for it to start?  NYwith its huge publicity machine.

"It is possible consumers in any part of the country may not be able to find some Velveeta products on store shelves over the next couple of weeks," Kraft spokeswoman Jody Moore told NBC News.  Moore said "higher demand" and "a combination of factors" led to the supply chain issues. "But nothing like a polar vortex."

Ms. Moore's concerns are noted.
