Beautiful Good and Wise

Beutiful Good Wise (Belle Bonne Sage) 1400 ish
Now that Valentine's Day is about three weeks out, it is time to start the brain cells flaring. Baude Fresnel (aka Cordier) wrote this little ditty  about 6 centuries ago and the manuscript graced perfume bottles (Chantilly - the piece is also found in the Chantilly Codex - a collection of music bound up in about 1400 near Rheims in France.

Next week, with Superbowl in the Cold, will be a lost weekend and with all the raging male psyches, there
will be plenty of making up to do.  I do think it a little strange that Valentine's Day has become something of a "make good" day when the sins and neglects of the past are hopefully eradicated in a blaze of chocolate and perfume.

Plan ahead. It won't hurt.
