Good Fences Make Good Neighbors

The Arizona Border Fence to Nowhere
Arizona is, again, running amuck.  They passed some darn fool legislation to collect donation money to build a mile of fence on the border with Mexico.  That particular mile of fence was to cost about $2.6 million and its not clear that it would be connected to any other mile of fence or if there were plans afoot to go the extra mile. (pun intended)

Alas, we will never know. The public, in its fervent backing of the issue, donated about $264,000 or 1/10th the amount needed. Seems it wasn't such a red hot idea after all.

Arizona is, of course, fiercely "states rights", wanting no part of the Washington influence - except of course when they want something and don't want to pay for it.
