Canadian born or not (and he is of American parents so put that citizenship canard to rest), he should run for president. He is the democrat's dream candidate.

I figure he will take a third of the loon right wing vote, the sane republican will take 2/3rds of the rest of the republican vote and we democrats will win in a walk.
