Weddings and Mermaids

Umberto and Giuliano
September 21, 2013
Our little village is full up with good things today. Our immediate festivities center around a mermaid parade
for the grand daughters followed up with a wedding for two splendid folks from Italy, Umberto and Giuliano who came here to be married on our beach.  Magnificent.

A priceless gift for us to remember.

Columbus noted mermaids on his first voyage to the new world.  They were probably manatees and pretty unlikely to be the real deal, Copenhagen Harbor variety.  Our grand daughters are firm believers and why not.  They are all  the stuff of wonderful dreams, all good things, all magic.

Mermaids getting ready for their big day too
Weddings are like that too. We won't get into the voyage of discovery stuff, Columbus, Italians, mermaids notwithstanding.  Weddings and mermaids are mystical.  We are transformed by believing in them both.  Our metamorphoses puts us instantly into a much better state and infinitely better place.

So off to the mermaid parade, beaming parents and grandparents, applauding onlookers and smiles all around.  Then off to a wedding, beaming friends and relatives, applauding onlookers and smiles all around.

Same same.
