Did they think no one would look it up?

Two late night radio liars
There are fools and there are liars.  Often it is hard to tell what passes for ignorance and what is just a purposeful lie.  These two are liars.

The other night, just in case you are interested, a caller said "In states where there are 'stand your ground' laws, the violence has increased".

NOT SO said the liars. "It has decrease 18%".

I've been in advertising for 25 years.  When someone just tosses out a number, rolls it across the table like a pearl, I get suspicious. These guys are crazy enough to think that they can just spout off something and it, like magic, is true.

Actually the "self defense" killing rate has greatly increased in states with such laws; 20%+ in some of them.  It is no silver bullet but a weapon to be trotted out as a defense for the indefensible.

Why lie?  Why mislead people purposefully?

I dunno. I just don't know.
