Summer Solstice

Well, you missed it. Summer officially started this morning at 1:04 am, EDT.

Summer Solstice means when the sun is directly above the highest latitude in our hemisphere - kinda like closest to being overhead for those of us north of the equator (winter solstice for those south of it). Its about 23 degrees north...about halfway from here to there I recon. It does, however make for the most daylight in the year.

It is a lazy summer morning then or, to be accurate, a morning when I want to be lazy and it happens to be summer. When worlds collide in a sense.

If someone didn't tell me, I wouldn't have known.
