An NRA Woman's ultimate self defense weapon..just right for the purse or pocketbook. |
I am reprinting an article I encountered this morning (black type) and some thoughts on it (red type). The reason I am using red is that I am seeing red. This thinking makes me crazy.
Seeking to give female gun owners a platform where they can make their voices heard, the National Rifle Association has relaunched its NRA Women channel....as if the NRA has trouble making its voice heard.
Using the theme of "new energy," the NRA Women channel features women in shooting sports who are passionate as gun owners and believe anti-gun advocates and members of the media need to be educated on firearms. When someone tells me I need to be "educated" it implies that I know nothing or am just stupid.
In addition to sharing their individual stories, some of the fresh (female) faces of the NRA will seek to prove to the public that a woman's right to defend herself with a firearm is vital. Key bullshit here is "prove to the public". Prove what?
"People in the media and the public in general just really desperately needs an education," Natalie Foster, CEO and founder of Girl's Guide to Guns, says in the new promotional video for NRAWomen.TV.
"Basically, they want everyone to be afraid of firearms and they're not focusing on a woman being able to protect herself," Mia Astine adds. The gun debate put forth here is self-defense. If logic fails, resort to fear.
