Here fishy fishy

A Snakehead Fish
This little monster was spotted in the Central Park Lake in downtown New York City.  We are not sure but don't think it took the subway or bus.

When I was a kid and the St. Lawrence Seaway opened end to end, a horrible parasite eel like thing called a lamprey invaded and killed off most of the fish of any note. The conservation department got the better of it but since most of the big fish were gone, a trash fish called an Alewife, came in through the same route and one could literally find them piled up on the shore, inches deep, and smelling to high heaven.

Enter the salmon to replace the big fish killed by the sea lamprey. They went crazy.  A buffet.  Things are back to normal.  Not so in Central Park.

The city has suggested, in very calm terms, that if you catch this rascal of a fish to please put it in a container and call 311 - the non-emergency help number for the city.

Write it down somewhere.
