Camels, Dromedarys and the French

The French President was in Mali the other day and the official gift was reported to be a camel.  Actually not true. The gift was dromedary, or one-humped camel, which is native to the Middle East and the Horn of Africa.  The Bactrian, is a two humped
camel of central Asian fame.

As the French Pres didn't want to cart the thing around, it (the ill-fate dromedary) was given to some locals for feeding and care.  Instructions not clearly given obviously. Dromedary was eaten instead of fed.  It had a name too.

Things aren't strange just here in the ol' USA.
