All the Ships at Sea

We've all watched with some fascination the goings on aboard that Carnival Cruise ship that lost power. Smelly claustrophobia springs to mind.  Carnival is giving away the store to placate the 4,000 or so that endured the cruise.  They will get hit with lawsuits no doubt....and this "press" will haunt them for a long time.

As awful as it was and must have been, they weren't sinking or in any mortal danger so some of the hyperbole is just that. On the other hand, being stuck on a floating island with 4,000 strangers all struggling for the next hot dog isn't my idea of a week in paradise.

Carnival Cruise lines is in full brand management damage control and folks are going to have fun at their expense for a long time.  The late night comics have already started in and from a brand perspective, there isn't a much worse thing than to mention your corporate name and have a room full of people laugh.

It could have been worse. Not much. But could have....
