Grey/Gray

I was always pretty sure either grey or gray were spelled wrong and avoided writing the word when possible so I wouldn't appear dumb.  We all do that; find another word when we can't spell the best choice.

Grey/gray is a pretty interesting word.  This morning is gray to me and my grey matter isn't functioning.  I'll ride "Old Grey" into town ... yada yada.

Grey/Gray
    adj
of a neutral tone, intermediate between black and white, that has no hue and reflects and transmits only a little light
greyish in colour or having parts or marks that are grayish
dismal or dark, esp from lack of light; gloomy
neutral or dull, esp in character or opinion
of or relating to people of middle age or above: grey power
an animal, esp a horse, that is grey or whitish
Black and white surround grey/gray - all colors and no colors, and that might be pretty much where a lot of us find ourselves; halfway between being colorful characters and as boring as a gray/grey slab.

Here is some black and white to think about.  No grey/gray here.
