If you are 40+, winter can't come late enough if at all. Frankly I could sail right through from pumpkins to veggie gardens without a blink. To kids, though, it has to be a different story.
We have a lot of years in the "I hate the cold" era in our lives. Kids are kids for such a short time that it just doesn't seem right to have Mom Nature cheat them out of a season; a season they can look back on with some fondness and tell their kids about. We adults never get tired of stories that start "I remember when....." and up to a point, kids listen to them. But they need their own stories more than they need ours.
Just sayin'.
