We happened on this children's book, pretty nifty for a granddaughter at Christmas, and gave it a read. Seems Ms. Sullivan has some experience walking dogs in her past and she has set out little couplets that are terrifically illustrated by one Alison Joseph of New York City.
"We stopped at Saks window
as day turned to night.
At the corner stood a man
with a leash he held tight..."
I can easily imagine reading this to one of my grandkids, fireplace firing, Christmas trees treeing...
.....and a dog at the feet footing.
