Every sunrise is spectacular in some way. Today's was no exception other than to be, well, rather exceptional.
A while back, one precocious grand daughter asked about what makes waves and we went into a Discovery Science Channel type explanation of wind and catspaws yada yada but all she was looking for was "wind". Tides and boat wakes etc. could wait.
When the sea is dead calm like this my personal answer of choice will be because the sunlight at dawn is so gentle it causes barely a stir.
