We have one. Saw it yesterday. Little green fellow - garden snake variety. The cat kind of freaked out and let it alone and it went on its merry way or whatever way snakes go. It is the sign of a healthy area to have them as it is for turtles to appear and frogs to - well frog around. I'm happy to say that we have them all.
Respighi is a favorite composer and he wrote a suite called Brazilian Impressions and one movement was devoted to snakes. Just so you know, I was looking for a way to tie that wonderful piece of music into some sort of real world experience and my little green friend did that for me.
