Least we forget, today is D-Day and right this very minute great masses of soldiers were fighting a horrible and horrific battle. Little known is that on this day nearly as many French citizens lost their lives as we did. No one was spared. That was 1944 - 57 years ago.
Howard Hansen, an American composer and with the Eastman School of Music and the then great Rochester Symphony wrote his 4th Symphony - the Reqiem Symphony and won the Pulitzer Prize for it.
Just a nudge to remember the War and this day in it and perhaps listen to some poweful music while doing it.
