Message from Madison

So MSNBC just had a quick interview with the republican majority leader of the Wisconsin State Senate.  He was asked if there was compromise possible - the unions would pay more and retain their collective bargaining rights.  The answer was a flat out "no".  No compromise.  Next week are education funding cuts and if they didn't take away collective bargaining there might be problems with th education cuts.

So just in summary, the new representatives and governor enter office with a budget surplus, cut taxes so there is a deficit, declare an emergency, some up with a solution that gets back about 8% of the deficit they just created and now want to make up the rest of it with cuts to education...oh and by the way take away some union rights to bust the unions up - these having no budget impact whatsoever.

Noted. End of message. Over and out.
