This is one of those observations that makes sense until you think about it.
Why have any law I might ask? You can have a 65mph on a highway and some jackass will go faster so if that logic prevails, there is no use have speed limit laws as there is a jackass who will break them. That would go for any law. No rape laws - cause bad guys are going to rape anyway so why make laws against it or prohibiting it. Oh we could go on and on.............. and on an on.
These debates are so simple to win and the idiocy of the opposition so remarkable ... I wish, in Walter Mitty fashion, that I was on the debate platform.....I can see it now...."Now now Senator Coburn - that logic may rule the day in rural Bugtussle Oklahoma but I'll give you a few minutes to retract that and offer up something more cogent....ok with you"?

ReplyDeleteA really dumb argument, indeed!!! Because your analogy is very stupid. The proper analogy would be to prevent anyone from driving over 65 mph by not letting anyone own a car.

Ok. Then no guns. we can be like the rest of the civilized world and guns can be kept under lock and key and anyone having one in public would automatically be under arrest and go to jail for - what? say 2 years or something.
