Mr. Obama, when on a roll, is a very fine orator - part Martin Luther King, part common sense friend and a good mix of the actor. What he didn't have last night was a speech. He lacked words.
We get it that things are bad and he was dealt a horrible hand. But we aren't children. We don't need "pre-chewed" food. What we got last night was Peggy Noonan on super bland.
