There is a PBS program called Great Performances and it was on Channel 13 in NYC last night. Gustavo Dudamel, one of my all time favorite conductors led the LA Philharmonic and the guest soloist was a tenor named Juan Diego Florez. Mr. Florez can sing. Aside from a voice of voices (not that overblown operatic tenor thing) and a technique plus diction that makes listening understandable, he seems to be completely self affacing and natural. The audience loved him. More important the orchestra loved him - that is a very high "inside" compliment.
Anyway, set your recorders and find this as it will be rebroadcast during the next interval. It is what TV was meant to be.
