Advent, these four weeks leading up to Christmas, is filled with hugely popular bits of music - from jingle bells to silent night. Perhaps at no time of year is there more of it in our lives.
In very simple reduction, music is a marvelous conveyor of the human spirit's sense of things religious and spiritual. We all "sing" something, have tunes in our heads, or walk around with Pods. Some of us can play entire symphonies, note for note, in our minds when we take a walk or stride along to any number of Sousa marches when we have our exercise. Music is ubiquitous and we should be thankful for the gift.
