This unfortunate fellow is Cam Newton - an athlete of some regard - who attends one of those God forsaken schools in Mississippi. There was a joke about UM (not the UM but Ole Miss) which went "We'd recruit you to Kentucky but if you can't spell Mississippi with all the double letters there is no hope for you here".
Look. I've met plenty of high school and even college kids with s..t for brains as the saying goes. Being "challenged" isn't a sin. Half the world is below normal. What is a sin is that we expect superior athletes to be superior intellects. Now that is stupid.
I point to OJ Simpson of slasher fame as a prime example. He might have been in his prime, the perfect athlete. I saw him in college and when he just ran on to the field with the team he was the one you saw....amazingly perfect stride and bearing. Also one of the world's great socio-paths.
In the case of our Mississippi fella, the world is going to crash on him. His dad will not be in the way nor will the University (that is a stretch) other than to have some NCAA issues that will hopefully kill the program. The coach will repent and find another job and the boosters (fringe alumni) will go on being lice and vermin.
I want you to look at the picture closely. It is of a black athlete surrounded by seemingly adoring WHITE fans. Let's see a picture a year from now and see how many of them are still in the frame.
