Richard Dean plays french horn in the Atlanta Symphony. I didn't "discover" him but I remember the night I went south of Lexington and auditioned a whole bunch of high school students for one of the Youth Orchestras in Lexington and he popped up. Nicest young person you would ever want to meet.
So I'm listening to WKAR in E. Lansing and the Kodaly's Peacock Variations are playing. I just thought of peacocks and how absurd they are and how they pop up in music because of their absurdity. the Orchestra is the Atlanta Symphony and one thought led to another.
