Water's rising....

This is the view going into Minnewaukan, North Dakota going south on old ND-19 before it turns into C Avenue at the town line.  Fishing is actually supposed to be pretty good. Water is a bit polluted though. Not horrible but think about having a bathtub with no drain.  That's Devil's Lake.

A few years ago, the lake wasn't there. The shoreline was 8 miles away.  Now it is the next door neighbor that won't go away.

In the little news article (click here) there is one telling point.  There are some folks studying the issue as the only way out of this mess is to drain it somehow or at least let some of the water go out. That problem is described as complicated and the folks who are studying it haven't issued their report.  All well and good but in the mean time, winter is going to show up and this is going to freeze over and the winter storms and snow melt..well you get the picture..next spring might prove to be the best fishing ever and you won't have to leave your home to do it.
