Very excited. I was at State during the height of the Viet Nam times, King's murder, Robert Kennedy's shooting, McCarthy for president, George Wallace and racism, just a rough time in history (the Nixon v. Humphrey race was raging and that was a sideshow) and we were playing Ohio State, Notre Dame and the dreaded Univ. of Michigan. OJ Simpson played on our field for USC and we got AstroTurf which hurt half the team. Somehow on those magic afternoons with the band, the sea of green and white, the good will and smiles that a "forget the world for a few hours" produced..well it makes me smile still. So here is the University song and to all my alumni friends who will settle in today at noon just like we were there together 40+ years ago, enjoying, feeling the excitement, and just having a good time. I really miss it on days like this. The only advantage to growing old is having enough memories to chose from.
