Earl, the typical cousin, was late getting here, got lost and drove past the house missing the exit by a few hundred more miles than projected, was incredibly tired when he did show up, sat there like a lump, pee'd on the front lawn and quietly left town.
I'm not sorry of course as his visit was unwelcome but it was highly anticipated. The stores out here were jammed for the week selling case of bottled water and every flashlight and candle to be found - and as it is a Jewish holy day coming up, I watched with some glee when a wide-eyed weekend resident, when he found that all the non-blessed candles were sold out bought the last box (no kidding 144 of them - a gross of candles) for about $300 and watching three Jewish women nearly chase him from the store...
