In advertising there is a thing about truth in advertising - not that anyone really looks closely anymore (yes they do! it was a tongue in cheek comment honest!!) There is a parallel in things related to the financial markets as there is a straight up area of hype potential and instead of some bad pasta sauce you'll never buy again in the financial markets you can loose your shirt if the other guy isn't telling the truth about the smallest thing. When I read an article like this one in Forbes , my first thought is, well it's Forbes (I mean Steve Forbes - the apple that fell soooo far from the tree).....not the Encyclopedia Britannica. But then I think about the mix that occurs in between advertising and "news" and financial matters. I almost went to work for AIG years back writing research and POV papers for management. I didn't. For investment purposes I'm glad that fell through as I would have probably bet the farm on that rock solid company (then) and...

Stained Glass - a color for everyone It is most certainly known that our eyes have lenses to focus the light and rods and cones on the retina to actually do the "seeing". Each of these millions of receptors has a responsibility for color. Some of us are color blind, meaning that we don't have enough of a certain mix of rods or cones and there is always a philosophical discussion about "is my 'blue' the same as your blue"? Perhaps the enchantment of stained glass is that our eye can catch our favorite color no matter who we are as there is something there for everyone. Pacific Nights

There wasa little short radio thing out of the University of Miami (Star Gazers) and its host, a fella named Jack Horkheimer (died in 2010), talked about what stars are up and showing on any particularly night. With the triangle of planets, harvest moon, and for some the northern lights a couple nights running, there are endless things to watch...although we have been partly clouded over 2 nights straight so I have to read about things and catch pictures on the computer ... but that isn't the real deal. 25 years or so ago I lived in Santa Monica for a couple of years. My apartment was only a few blocks from the Pacific and there was an active astronomy society that trudged down to the ocean, under the Pacific Highway overlook bluffs and outside the light glare of downtown. We could only look west out over the water but that was quite enough. I bought a telescope at Best Buy and went frequently to these events..partly because of the interest (intense) at look...
