I've been a supporter of "the system" in Venezuela...that has put about a million kids to music and created top tier orchestras that play with passion and competence. This is a movement that is life changing. Life Changing. From a future of poverty and "Christian Children's Fund" commercials we find these kids in London at the Proms or in Gothenberg Sweden, an extremely affluent city in an affluent socialist (did i say that) country. There aren't just a few left in Venezuela but a million and now that "the movement" is expanding to voice, poetry, prose, play writing, dance....you name it...we may look to Venezuela as a source of great artists to populate our and all of western civilization's ensembles for years to come. Look on this as a wonderment of cross cultures meeting up.
