In 1975 I had the good fortune to conduct a public concert in downtown Lexington, KY commerating the 200th or something founding of the city. We had huge crowds and during "intermission" about half a dozen hot air balloons took off from downtown into the twilight sky. They floated effortlessly and the crowd was stunned by the beauty of it.
Two years back, my wife and I were in Napa and had the opportunity to do this. We aren't in the video of course but it was really something. Hey. I've got two great balloon memories in my life. Not bad.
