There was a fellow (Kenneth Arnold) flying a private plane in Washington State 63 years ago who saw 7 UFOs that he described as two saucers (as in cup and saucer) stuck together (flying saucers!). From the time I could read or at least understand TV, I've heard of flying saucers and can remember an evening in Cincinnati when I was about 8 years old when the TV news broke in to say that a UFO was headed north out of the downtown area and clearly visible...and we rushed outside and saw it, whatever it was.
The English have released all kinds of documents on UFOs as of late and it appears that the mania for this stuff is as heightened as it in anytime in my life. Entire websites are devoted this stuff (this one is typical). UFO websites are, in the end, "websites" that require construction, wireframes, graphic artists, copy writers and editors. It takes time and money and that means it has to contribute, in the end, be it by donations or advertising or selling something..but it does take money to keep these things running.
