Hurricane Danielle and Buoys

The national weather service has a bunch of these things in the oceans and great lakes.  There is one that is directly in the path of hurricane Danielle, now a catagory 4 hurricane (Katrina like for example). You can follow it in real time here.

Here on Long Island we are going to get some waves from this even though it is 1000 miles away. They should arrive this weekend.  I can't image what it is like out there. But I will watch the bouy.  Here is what the waves out there will look like. Scary.
