Yesterday I posted the opening scene to this ballet with the observation that ballet was, in its storybook form, a forerunner of movies... a story with scenes that actually moved and not just a single still picture. About 1000 people visited the post and took interest.
Wonderous things can be depicted this way. Dancing bears, burlesque, ruffians and clown heros and poor pathetic people in the crowds...people who you just wonder about. One could even imagine a dancing bear being real and our congress dancing to a different tune..perhaps one that had us in it if nothing more than extras.
Where yesterday's post was the opening scene, this one is the end of the ballet...it is very sad.
