So I was looking at old TV intros - stuff from the 50s - and found the Cisco Kid with Duncan Rinaldo and his sidekick "oh Pancho". I was thinking of Man of LaMancha and Don Quxiote and then I heard this introduction that said "O'Henry's immortal..." and well O'Henry did write "The Caballero's Way" which is about the time and setting but a mirror opposite of the TV series. I am now prompted to go the library and see if I can find the short story for an afternoon - nap - read.
